Mr. Clayton's Parents Page Career and Technical Education High Tech Early College - Denver |
I want to welcome you and your student to my classes at the High Tech Early College. As your student’s parent or guardian, you are a very important part of the team that teaches your child. I welcome your participation. Encourage your student to attend school regularly and on-time and to complete their work. Keep yourself informed about what your child may or may not be doing. Hold him/her accountable and praise him/her for a job well done. My objective is to help your student develop a plan that will lead to their graduation and a successful future in both college and career. CLASS SCHEDULE. TBA ATTENDANCE: For your student's safety and educational success, it is VERY important that they attend class on-time, every day. This is particularly important in my classes since they are skills-based and dependent on classroom instruction. If you know that your student is going to be absent, please phone an excuse in to the school. MY CLASSES: This year I will be teaching two classes for which your student may receive college credit at the Community College of Aurora. The classes are in the Graphic Design pathway. They are: Introduction to Multimedia and Photoshop I. In addition, I will be teaching a section of Student Leadership for transcripted DPS credit. EXPECTATIONS: I expect my students to display behaviors that are acceptable in the workplace and that will help them be successful in school, college and their career. Click on the Expectations and Procedures links for a complete explanation. GRADES: TBA LEADERSHIP: We are required by the Colorado Community College System to provide leadership training in our CTE classes. Students learn important leadership skills that will help them both in college and the workplace. We do this through our participation in Future Business Leaders of America. Please encourage your student to make the most of this opportunity through active participation. BACK-TO-SCHOOL: TBA |
